Hi, I'm Michael.

I founded Cyber Cognition™ to reshape how people and organisations approach cybersecurity through systems thinking. I have more than twenty years of technology and cybersecurity leadership experience spanning the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia. I've held senior cybersecurity roles at major financial institutions, including Chief Information Security Officer at Judo Bank and General Manager Information Security at HESTA. As Head of Cyber and Financial Crime at ASFA I developed the Superannuation Cyber and Financial Crime Coordination Framework (SC3) helping to protect over $2 trillion dollars in Australian’s retirement savings.

I've published research in the Journal of Systems Thinking, taught courses on systems thinking in cybersecurity, and presented at Cornell University's International Systems Thinking Conference, to an audience of more than 7,000 attendees.
